Has West Ham got its mojo back?
5 rancid years since moving from Upton Park, are match days/nights at West Ham getting some swagger back? Or are you too busy buying sweets and popcorn to care?

Re: Has West Ham got its mojo back?
Think the rake is the same at the sides, so can they not be squared off too? Would then push the technical areas a bit closer to the pitch as well.
Problem is the decking & gaps between the tiers? I wonder what can be done? Needs proper retractable seating that fits snug, then the roof lowered by 10 rows.
Can it be done, is it worth the cost?

We've moved to almost being behind the goal in BML now but as its front row you can't really call it an improvement. The seats seem less sturdy now as they kept making cracking noises like they were about to snap off (and no, it's not because I'm fat!)

Re: Has West Ham got its mojo back?
It was a great atmosphere. Fans being away for so long were up for it, warm evening and of course the team playing so well a big contributor. We've had patches during games when the ground was rocking but few if any where it was virtually the whole game like last night. Behind the goal did look better, whether it is better for those who seats are there I don't know. Hopefully is.

It's a wonderful feeling to know our boys can compete. I'm buzzing and also still pinching myself at how we fight anf how we play as a team.

So we're saying that Moyes is like a dose of viagra?

Well, we are certainly much stiffer opposition, than we used to be.

Arsenal ARE in a sterile bowl.

If we can match last season’s exploits and win at least half our league games again we will have reset our mojo to a new level.

Re: Has West Ham got its mojo back?
Upper tiers of big stadia don't HAVE to be so far away. Many are not - they are simply steeper or flush against the pitch.

The bowl is still soul-less as a ground - it's just that our fans have on occasion made it sound like a rollicking pit. But that says more about the fans than the stadium. Imagine Arsenal in that sterile bowl?

Have we ever had our mojo?

Re: Has West Ham got its mojo back?
The upper tiers of any 60k+ stadium are gonna be far away.

It’s the lower tiers that generate the atmosphere, mostly the stands behind the goals. So getting those stands straightened will make a big difference.

Obviously, the team playing well is the biggest thing that improves atmosphere.

Re: Has West Ham got its mojo back?
The curve has been taken out so the corners are no closer but the middle is.

Take the lower section on its own and it’s better. Problem is it is still a long way from the upper tier with the deck inbetween so as a stadium as a whole it’s still an abortion

I wouldn't say we've got our mojo back. But we've definitely rediscovered the brothel.
